US CPSC to Accept ASTM F963-2017 as Mandatory Standard with Certain Conditions

The US CPSC has recently published a direct final rule (DFR) mandating ASTM F963-2017 for toys with one exception. If no adverse comments are received, the new standard will become effective on February 28, 2018.

Canada Implements MRLs for Spirotetramat in Crops

Pest Control Products Act, Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has notified the WTO that proposed Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) for Spirotetramat in crops such as stone fruits, tree nuts, carrot roots, sugar beet roots and asparagus are to be implemented. Submitting comments from WTO members are due within 75 days of publication, November 2, 2017.
US CPSC Publishes NPR for Accredited Labs to Comply with CPSIA Phthalates

The US Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) has published a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPR) to allow existing accredited laboratories two years to update their scope of accreditation to the latest method for CPSIA phthalates. If approved, the final rule could become effective sometime in 2018.
California Lists two PFO Analogues under PROP 65
